The Seekers of the Future
[FLAG]
(By Andromeda)
“Under Shadow of September”
- It all started with a spark. -
The War went by many names. The Pact-Union War, the Anglo-Germanic War, the Crusade, and any other assortment of things. To the Seekers, it is known as their Beginning.
Initially a network of stealth warships under the Dominion’s Navy that would go and do the biddings of the Dominion, as their standard vessels waged war against the Angloes and Foxes. They would take out important targets, conduct on-field tests and research, and other such things.
When Gelos Mal was wiped from the stage of the Galaxy, this network of stealth vessels clung together, pulling back to group up and come up with a plan- catching a variety of normal ships in with their retreat from combat zones. Their flagship was the IDS Voyager; changed now to the SVS Voyager.
With contact to Elohim and a direct hand dipped into the Musavian’s Schism, they quickly caught wind of the Great Future- and after some debate, their primary goal was set, and their permanent name selected. The Seekers of the Future wanted to hunt down the Great Future Megaship, and strike it down for good.
Modern day. The Seekers have grown in power, becoming a Nomadic Fleet of stealth ships and normal vessels. They have many small outposts in hidden places around the eastern arms of the galaxy, conducting research and development, while ever searching for the Great Future. With Old Imperial Wreckages, Elohim and the Hands of God, Two Captured Qunits, and massive supercomputers built into the cores of non-combat vessels; the Seekers have made Great Bounds in technology their forefathers never couldve predicted.

Type -
Nomadic Paramilitary Junta
Leader -
Grand Commodore Mahendrik Vakorian
Originally an Admiral and Nobleman of the Infinite Dominion who oversaw the operations of the Dominion’s Stealth Fleet; he now leads the Seekers on their grandiose quest, and in all their operations. Seeing as he is the most qualified for this job from sheer experience and age, this has not been contested.
Mahendrik is a Dreftallech, once of the High Imperium. He has dark, Bronze skin, deep green eyes, and the thick, long black hair signature of the dreftallech’s relative genetic indiversity. He is quite tall for a dreftallech, and has a constant look of indifference upon his face; despite this he is described as friendly in-person; if a bit quiet and spacey, always seemingly worried about something no-one knows about.
Commodores Couldri and Kethmehil
The Second-In-Commands of the Seekers, Couldri and Kethmehil are practiced strategists, military commanders, and advisors for Mahendrik. They carry out many of his orders, and give many of their own orders, each one commanding a flagship and fleet of which have two very different purposes.
-
Couldri is the Commodore pertaining to external affairs of extranational diplomacy, warfare, and operations. His flagship is the SVS Ragnarok, and he commands the ‘Primary Extranational Operations Fleet’, or the PExOp Feet. Cavanti Couldri is a human born in TIE space, who served under Ezekiel until the Dominion collapsed. He has pale skin, dark, tired eyes of a brown colour, and short hair of a similar shade.
He is an ageing man, with wrinkles that could easily be fixed with genetic modification, but he has decided to keep. He is a genius strategist and tactician, and tends to have a warm and welcoming personality outside of the workplace, often one to have a drink and a laugh with his friends.
-
On the other hand, Commodore Kethmehil. Elandrus Kethmehil is of Musavian Origin, and was with some of the Musavians who took up jobs or offers within the early seeker fleet. Over time, she rose the ranks and was recognized as a great strategist, but an almost equally intelligent field-scientist and logistics operator. She is the head Commodore of the Primary Scientific and Internal Operations Fleet- or PriSIntOp Fleet- and is the acting commander of the SVS Blind Eye.
She is quite young compared to other commanders near her prestigious position, only about thirty or fourty years of age. She is an intelligent person, and is friendly, but only for the sake of politeness. She doesn't keep very many friends around her, usually preferring to go it alone, but the ones she does keep around are very dear to her. She has soft blue-green coloured scales mixed with a dark brown colour, and she has quite long horns compared to some others of her species. Her eyes are a deep sapphire-blue colour.
- Capital/Flagship -
Due to the nomadic nature of the Seekers, they have no one capital system. Instead, their ‘Capital’ is the primary nomad fleet, called ‘Home-Standard Fleet’, or HOST Fleet. This fleet contains the singular central location of power for the Seekers- the SVS Voyager.
This Harbinger-Class Titan was once one of the grandiose creations of the Dominion, and has since had its internals basically gutted and replaced, with major repainting of its hull, with some additions made. This vessel houses the Grand Commodore, and most of the political bodies and primary inter-fleet laboratories of the Seekers.
- Function -
At its most basic description, the Seekers are closer to an Extranational Paramilitary Organization than the proper Nation they describe themselves to be. They have no civilians outside of non-combat scientists, medics, and non-combat personnel on fleet ships that don't fight. Anyone brought into the seekers is either moved in as personnel in some way, or born to already enlisted personnel. Due to this, the seekers have very limited manpower, and often rely on AI and automation for a lot of operations.
The Proper government structure is similar to that of a single branch of a military with subdivisions. At the head is Grand Commodore Mahendrik, His word is absolute unless both Couldri and Kethmehil unanimously disagree with him. Mahendrik commands directly all internal decisions, and anything not related to warfare or scientific operations.
Below him, Commodore Couldri handles all Directly Military Operations, and anything Extranational relating to Diplomacy, Warfare, and the Like. He has undercommodores and flotcommodores who answer to him, and cannot override his orders without- once again- complete unanimous decision of his main subordinates.
Commodore Kethmehil controls Internal scientific operations, external scientific operations, exploration, and expansion of the fleet. She has subordinates who function in a more democracy-esque way, where they can overrule her with supermajority, and many times, she will cast ideas before them for them to vote upon and decide together. This was done of her own accord, to the slight dismay of Mahendrik.

Flotcommodore Esteliz is one of the subordinate officers to Commodore Couldri. He serves on the SVS Trial of Divinity, one of two Tribulation-Class Titans within the Seekers. He answers directly to Couldri, and assists in military operations with the Secondary Extranational Operations Fleet- SexOp Fleet.
Mason Esteliz is a human originating from the High Imperium, and is relatively short for an Imperial. He has dark skin signature of an Imperial, with soft hazel eyes contrasting his sharp, angry jawline. His hair runs down to the middle of his neck in length, and is a greyish-black colour. He is about 52 years of age, and is always grumpy, annoyed, or angered.
One of two Qunits serving with the Seekers. Bee is a Qunit, and was an unplanned twin-unit of F12Y3. She is described as unpredictable, insane, paranoid, and psychotic. From a medical standpoint, those are all correct- and a normal standpoint too. Everything she does is out of spite against her creators, and for her own personal enjoyment and entertainment.
There is a slight chance she is aware of the fourth wall, or that she believes she is. She has supplied her knowledge, Taroka, Armour, and her assistance to scientists of the Seekers, providing invaluable research and development for the now-complete Hands of God Project.
Bee is built to look the same as the Vaiaelon species. She has genetically modded her pelt to switch colours, so it may change at any moment or constantly shift colours in an RGB pattern. Her eyes are an amber colour and occasionally flash with sensors implanted in them; it is noted by many that her eyes are uncomfortable to look into for a long time. She stands above the average for a vaiaelon, and her tail is kept at the same length as her body- about 3.8 metres.
Even compared to Bee, Wytoo is an Odd specimen. Before she was rescued by the IDS- now SVS- “Unseen Legend”, she was locked in a state of perceiving time at a snail's pace. It is said she went through insanity, depression, enlightenment, and other emotions innummerous times over her perceived centuries of living.
As it turns out, it was all intentional, as she had damaged her time perception code, for the sake of avoiding being forced to fight by her parent nation. At heart, she is a pacifist whenever she can be, feeling distaste to violence, although when her life, or the lives of others that she considers close to her are at stake, she isn’t afraid to fight- if very briefly. After her rescue, she fixed her own code, and now perceives time at a normal or variable rate as needed.
She lives within the fleet of the Seekers, particularly on the SVS Unseen Legend- which has been since repurposed as a research vessel that doesn't engage in combat. She provides her intellect, intelligence, and know-how to the Seekers in exchange for asylum and not being forced to fight. Most time not spent working on scientific ventures is with her friends in the Shadow Marine squad that had originally rescued her- or spending time with ‘Bravo’’- Adeline Visili- who is presumed to be her significant other.
Just like Bee, Wytoo is designed to look in the image of Vaiaelon. As such, she has a soft, relatively long snow-white pelt. Her tail is extremely long, over five or six metres, due to vaiaelon tails continually growing through their life, and Wytoo’s tail not having been trimmed in a very, very long time. Her eyes are a bright blue colour, that occasionally glimmer due to the sensors implanted in them. Just like all qunits, she has a metal panel just above her back, near the nape of her neck. To the dismay of some crew, Wytoo often refuses to wear clothing, due to it restricting her movement and messing with her pelt- and a general distaste towards clothing.

Wytoo (Vaiaelon) and Her Significant Other, Adeline (Human)
Orlan is the Captain of the SVS Unseen Legend, and has been since the vessel was a corvette serving for the Dominion, and even before then for Ezekiel’s ‘Undying Empire’. He is an aged human male native to G-S16. He has patchy, balding grey hair, a thick beard and moustache, and a wiseness in his eyes. He is calm, friendly, and almost always has a smile on his face, ever since the stress of war was put behind him. His eyes are a gentle blue colour, and always radiate with a friendliness and wizened age, something that often earns him the good favour of even people such as Esteliz.
[TRANSITION IMAGE]
The bread and butter of the Seekers. Humans make up a majority of the population, at about seventy percent. Many younger humans within the Seekers have minor cybernetic or genetic alterations, from permanent hair colour changes, haptic-capable cybernetic hands or arms, the changing of eye colour, or even adding on a tail- be it mechanical or biological Major additions, both cybernetic and genetic, require long recovery times and immuno-blockers, depending on the size and importance of the addition.
With how closely the Dominion, then the Seekers, worked with MURF- and now Elohim- the Musavians are the second most prominent race within their ranks. Musavians are a reptilian species hailing from MISE, and originally the planet of Musavi. They have two large, now useless horns on the top of their head, as well as a large tail once used for balance. They are oftenmost covered in greenish and black scales, and have a long tail at the base of their spine. Musavians may have similar modifications to humans, although differing immune systems require different recovery times and drugs.
- SapSent AI Cores -
- Androids -
A direct result of a mix between a Q-biocomputer and standard microcomputers. Sapient-Sentient Artificial Intelligence Cores (Also known as SapSent AI) are a small chip containing numerous microcomputers, and a central q-biocomputer made out of artificially grown neurons and micrites, as well as a small holo-projectors able to project a full-colour hologram about the size of a human fist. These chips contain the ever-changing and unarrested code of an entire thinking, conscious being, with a fully sentient and sapient AI.
These intelligences are very rarely created- non-sapsent emotionless AI are preferred- because after five years of Service, SapSent AI are given full rights, and may choose to keep working for the seekers, or be set free. Either way, after five years, the SapSents are given biomechanical bodies of a mix between computer systems, a Qbiocomp and Microcomp brain, and internal systems functioning like organs surrounded by metal ‘bones’ and artificially-grown flesh, muscles, and a blood-like substance that acts as a coolant and smaller ‘veins’ that are just power cabling.
Not technically a species in their own right, Dreftallech are technically any other species put through specific and extreme modifications. A far cry from the original dreft from the Imperium, they are pumped full of Micrites that alter their hormones, cellular composition, bits of DNA, and provide support to the vital organs of the body. Alongside this, dreft undergo genetic manipulation to strengthen their bones, skin, and muscles.
The right hand of each dreft is- unless specifically denied- replaced with a cybernetic hand capable of using electric currents to create arcs and bolts of plasma, as an attempt to stay true to the original dreft. Unlike the dreft of old, new ones are not connected to the starshard on the still-living-but-lost Taros, and are not psionically inclined without separate operations or previous knowledge.
Dreft are lumped in with their respective species on the census, and take up roughly five percent of non-human races, and twelve percent of humans. The procedures are long, painful, and arduous, and are over time becoming increasingly unpopular, regarded as unnecessary vanity.
Within the seekers, there are many who have made it into the fleets through numerous ways. There are various avian-esque species, humanoids, reptile-likes, and others. Most of them share commonalities with Human biology, thus medicines tend to work at least partially on them, and cybernetics or genetic mods can still be made on a majority of them.
[TRANSITION IMAGE]
- General -
Overall, the Seekers, despite their diversity, all tend to share the same overarching goals and ideas; this is most likely due to the fact that basically none in the seekers are forced to stay- although any confidential data or secrets must be wiped from their memory.
Most people within the Seekers tend to be very inquisitive people who want to find out what the universe has to offer, while those in the Impetum Classis or Nautae Belli tend to be strongly felt about getting rid of things that may threaten the galaxy they live in.
Overall, the nation tends to have a very interconnected feeling between peers, co-workers, and fellow members of the Seekers. All of them are working for the same goal, and they know it. It's not common for people to know everyone on ships at least by name, or on larger vessels everyone in their line of work and/or region of the vessel.
- Interspecies Relations -
Interspecies relations tend to vary heavily depending on the origins of each person. There are still many Imperial-Born and TIE-Originating humans who tend to show outwards xenophobia, although it is looked down on by the command staff in most situations. Despite this though, there are also many humans from both those origins or just generally native to G-S16 who have little to no problem with the nonhumans they work with, some even going out of their way to befriend them.
In the same regard, there are some groups of nonhumans who dislike one another or humans, but this is quickly rooted out by command staff for the sake of keeping morale up. For the most part, nonhumans tend to be quite friendly to eachother and humans- although like many things in life, it depends on the person, not the category.
There are even many cases of two differing species using samples of their DNA to splice into a lab-grown child, allowing families between multiple species to be possible; which results in an even lower rate of xenophobia between groups.
Religion -
Though it greatly depends, the common consensus within the Seekers is religion is not a common sight, even less so in higher ranks or positions. Working with esoterica technology and such wondrous things seems to mute the religious elements of such peoples. Despite this, many individuals may bring religions from their home when joining the seekers; and many Imperial-born still believe that their God- the starshard on the lost world of Taros- still exists, somewhere out there.
Driving Houses of Thought -
Out of the Way -
The Seekers tend to be very low-lying on a galactic scale, trying to avoid unnecessary issues and interaction with other nations. They may trade with nations or take treaties and deals, but only if it benefits the seekers and will not result in dangerous consequences.
If confronted, the seekers tend to be extremely vocal about this desire, often requesting or demanding to be left alone and not bothered. If attacked, they will not be afraid to strike back.
- Spirit of Fire -
As mentioned previously, the seekers overall tend to be very passionate about their mission and goal. To take out the Great Future; To discover and eliminate things that may threaten them, their families, their homes, or the galaxy at large. Slacking or doing half-assed jobs- laziness- is looked down upon greatly, and activity is promoted and encouraged.
An ‘At All Costs’ mindset is adopted en-mass by the seekers, particularly those of the Impetum Classis. If an action- no matter the morality- will in the long run save countless lives, or get them far closer to accomplishing their goals, then they will do it. While they are strictly prohibited from things like destroying population centres without express permission from higherups, this permission may likely be granted if many things are at stake.
Eyes Up -
A General Demeanor of Attentiveness is present within the seekers both on a national and individual level. Always looking for opportunities to get ever closer to their goal, or following the breadcrumb trail left behind by the things they hunt. No detail left unturned, no skyline unwatched.
Innovate, Overcome -
To fight for the future, one must be well equipped. This is a philosophy that the Seekers have employed since day one of their existence, when their hunt for the Great Future began. Due to the nature of the Great Future Megaship- being an innovation in technology that the galaxy had not foreseen- to take it down would be a task that no simple railguns like what the Old Dominion employed could complete.
As such, the seekers have employed research and development fleets to stellar anomalies and/or rogue planetoids to establish research bases, for primarily weapons testing. Blacksites like these are what spawned innovations such as Q-switches and Q-comms sparked with the help of the Qunits under the seeker’s flags; and even things like Genetic modification were developed in these labs.
Henceforth, Innovation and Development is one of the most powerful tools in the belts of the Seekers.
Currency -
The Currency used by the Seekers is- externally- the galactic standard of credits. Internally, however, they use a digital currency called ‘CRIDs’, which is a remnant of the Dominion, who used the same internal currency for their citizens.
Function -
The Economy of the seekers is a total Command Economy, with the military higherups deciding how and where to spend their money.
Focuses -
The main industry for the seekers is Scientific developments, and hiring out ships for mercenary work.
[TRANSITION IMAGE]
-Impetum Classis-
(AKA Assault Fleet)
The Impetum Classis is the backbone of the Seeker’s offensive forces, holding most of their Red-code vessels that serve for offensive or extranational purposes. Most fleets within the Classis are functionally independent, going on long missions for months before needing to resupply at asteroid bases, outposts, or the Home Fleet. Their main mission is warfare, and they excel at stealth or alternative styles of warfare the most.
-
-Inventio Classis-
(AKA Discovery Fleet)
The Scientific side of the Seeker fleet, these- alongside Home fleet- tend to be mostly comprised of Blue-code vessels, which are less capable in alternative warfare, stealth, or independent operations, but are astounding for defensive fighting, escort, and working with a larger fleet. This fleet also comprises many civilian science vessels that control and conduct tests, as well as carry supplies.
-
-Nautae Belli-
(AKA Marines of War)
The Main ‘Ground Forces’ of the Seekers, few in number compared to the sailors, but trained to operate in many environments, such as EVA, Shipboard, Boarding conditions, or planetside landing. The seekers often avoid planet-side combat, and as such the Nautae Belli have little experience in that regard, but they are very experienced at ship-ship transfers or Extravehicular/Vacuum operations. They also serve as the guards on seeker installations or vessels.
-
-Umbra Nautae-
(AKA Marines of Shadow)
The most Elite soldiers of the Seekers. The Umbra Nautae are the best of the best, and are the remnants of the Dominion’s ‘Shadow Marines’, keeping the same concept. They function as hyperspecialized troops, with many different divisions for different jobs. The most common are stealth-infiltration forces, Vacuum operations forces, and ‘kill teams’. This branch also includes any and all supersoldiers.
-
Red-code or ExOp fleets function almost exclusively on a doctrine of alternative warfare, stealth, independence, and avoiding direct confrontation where possible. If direct combat is necessary, they rely on wiping out enemy capital ships as swiftly as possible, and using fightercraft to protect and attack. This is less prominent in Titan fleets, which have the firepower to contend with similarly sized fleets oftentimes.
For Blue-code or SintOp fleets, they rely on avoiding engagement conventionally, or creating a ‘bubble’ of defense with PD, Active Defenses, Shielding, and other things like magnetic fields, long enough to escape.
- Fleet Types -
Due to the nomadic, fleet-based nature of the Seekers, there is a large variety of fleet types that can be found within their ranks, scouring the galaxy to do the bidding of the Grand Commodore.
The First major type of fleet is moreso a single entity than a ‘type’, This being, The Home fleet of the Seekers. This fleet is a massive collection of vessels relative to what the Seekers are capable of fielding. This contains the Capital/Flagship of the Seekers- The SVS Voyager- and is the home of the Grand Commodore and most of the non-combative leadership and admiralty of the Seekers
The Second major type is small Diplomatic Fleets. These often contain a single civilian vessel, a corvette of some form, and a destroyer. These fleets are small, nimble, and tend to not keep a low profile like most seeker fleets do. They carry diplomats, and no complement of Nautae Belli nor Umbra Nautae, only equipped with some basic guards and the crews of the ships themselves.
Extranational Operations Fleets- ‘[X]exOp’ fleets- are the primary military fleets for the Seekers. More often than not, Diplomatic fleets will split off from exOp fleets, and the exOp fleets themselves enforce seeker trade convoys, protect important assets, and conduct any warfare the Seekers may be forced into. These range anywhere from dozens of vessels to merely six or seven ships.
The Final prominent fleet types are Scientific and Internal Operations Fleets; “[X]SIntOp Fleets”. These fleets conduct internal policing roles, go on scientific ventures, and often provide security for blacksites in the form of ships and strike-craft docked in underground hangars. Generally, these fleets have similar size ranges to exOp fleets.
