This thread is a place where otherwise non-player controlled or owned factions can be submitted in shortform as small tidbits or long descriptions- depending on the person writing the submission and how much on the NPC they have floating in their head. This can be used as an archive for NPCs or simply an idea repository for NPCs that may be expanded upon in the future.

Anyone is free to comment on this thread with their own NPCs, though please keep submissions in a non-casual, concise tone, and keep all conversation out of the thread and on the main discord server. An example of a submission will be added below, though this format is not a requirement.

The Intragalactic Humanitarian OrgaNizatioN (IHONN)

The IHONN is an upstart humanitarian non-profit organization which specializes in traveling doctors and food handouts for regions struck by warfare, rampant corporate corruption, and natural planetary disasters. A majority of their funding comes from national grants given to them, donations from galactic citizens or organizations, and other similar things. They aim to expand farther north into the galaxy, though the growth is slow due to a recent decrease in funding.

The IHONN, from an Out of Character Standpoint, operates under a very medical and clean aesthetic, with white and bright cyan blue being their primary colours, with fleets of medical vessels that will quickly respond to crises within their operation zones, and sometimes outside of them in dire circumstances.

The IHONN's headquarters is currently based in the UEG's Harmony system, though the headquarters changes every few years depending on numerous factors. Their operations spread from Eq 1, 8, and 7 to Iq 1 and Rq 1 and 6 through 8, though they are moving to open operations in Iq 4 as of now.

The IHONN is inspired by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations, as well as the World Food Program organizations that operate in the real, out of character world.

Tavin & Talia Corporate Industries (Double T-CI or dTCI)

A Large native corporation based in the sixth EQ, who started their roots selling and constructing interplanetary infrastructure such as intranet systems for easy communication between planets in a star system. Taking this basic knowledge and the existance of the underdeveloped GIIG, the dTCI has begun buying up GIIG systems in their respective regions, as well as working to construct compatible infrastructure systems, hoping to connect their region- and hopefully the entire galaxy- under an online network, pre-emptively called the Gignet, or the Tacnet, though it is officially called the "Network Connection Initiative", or NCI. They have completely connected the majority of EQ6 within nations that have allowed it, and have started on other quadrants nearby them. It is rumored that they are working in tandem with the Ascendant Dawn, but there is no confirmation of this.

Their aesthetic is based around a mockery of MISE's sleek, clean, and efficient style, with a far more thick, heavy, and rustic industrial feel applied to their items due to their relative low tech, but high efficiency and their good standing in the region leading to reliable and quick work.

The dTCI is based in EQ6, but is operating and offering services across the entire region of space outwards from the Fourth Inner Quadrant, from their initial planetary and interplanetary infrastructure business, to their newer Network Connection Initiative.

the Double-T-CI is inspired partially by MISE and the CES, as well as the real Union Pacific Corp, and the concept of industrial corporations and the internet.

Aluvarian Federation of Socialist Solinist Republics (FSSR/ФССР)

Native to the system known as Talem Prime, and the planet Kyto IV in EQ7. The FSSR is a communist-socialist state with an extremely heavily nationalized industrial sector, and vast foundries and shipyards in the ten dead star systems around their five core systems. This industrial sector makes up a vast bulk of their economy. Due to past misgivings with the UoJ, as well as a general distaste towards more heavily capitalist societies. On top of that, they believe the UoJ's, MISE remnant's, and Embassy's method of functions are non-sustainable, and dangerous to the rest of the galaxy. They spread their anti-UoJ and anti-Embassy rhetoric across their nearby sectors, particularly aimed towards and against the nearby UEG and Embassy itself. Their weapons can be found sold to nations across their nearby sectors, as well as their hardy vessels.

The FSSR's aesthetic is heavily based off of communist propaganda and architecture, with an industrial, ghetto feel to all of their products, as well as a hardy, rustic reliability and cheapness. Their primary colours are Red, Gold, and Deep blue.

They are located in EQ7, slightly south of the Hollow Reach. They have sales that are beginning to reach a large portion of the galaxy, and a sphere of influence relatively nearby them within EQ7 of pro-communist, anti-Capitalist sentiment.

The primary inspirations for the FSSR are Communist Yugoslavia, Stalinist Soviet Union, and the general concept of industrial nations and communist nations in media.

Interstellar Imperial Governance of the Ruvostal Beldt (IIG)

Long isolationist, Ruvostal is the unfortunate product of a partially successful Fascist-Monarchist regime conquered their home star, and then numerous star systems around them. They currently sit at around 22 systems in size, and each star system is under one of eight partially autonomous zones, each one with a secondary dictator appointed by the IIG's Kotsar, or Emperor. Overall the nation has begun interacting with the wider galaxy, although a lack of positive interaction has led to this stance retracting on itself, even moreso by the rebellion of one of their conquered regions.

The aesthetic of the Ruvostal Beldt is a mixture of mid-level scifi technology (relative to the setting), with the looks of a sort of industrial-deiselpunk and hard scifi, without actually being hard scifi.

The IIG is located within the RQ3, "Old Blood", and is west of the GSR's remnants, being a hot spot for GSR refugees after the regime's fall once more.

The main inspirations for the IIG are Deiselpunk, Tsarist Russia, and the MCRN's vessels from the expanse, as well as industrial commie blocks.

Freidman's Republic of South Estkoria (FRE)

A very recent development, the FRE is a breakaway rebellion from the Ruvostal Beldt, consisting of the smallest autonomous region in the IIG, two star systems which were overrun by workers, prisoners, slaves, organized paramilitary forces, and some defecting vessels from the IIRN. This republic, consisting of some Ruvostali (evolved humans), and primarily Korik peoples, of whom are natives and a dying species. They have reach out towards the Vaiaelon War Pact for help, but have yet to directly receive it, and are now facing a counterstrike by the IIRN that may wipe them out.

Their aesthetics borrow from the Ruvostal's, but with a more rugged and old, used look to their equipment, due to it being stolen, smuggled, or taken from old stockpiles.

They are located in the part of the Ruvostal Beldt farthest from the Vaiaelons, and nearest to the border of other, eastern quadrants.

They are inspired heavily by polish and spanish partisans during WW2 and the Spanish Civil War.

Dumb

Parendam Beta Survivors ("Survivors" in short)

Formerly just a gang of assorted outlaws, scavengers, and mercs living off of warship debris and the shattered star of Parendam Beta (R-7), most were rendered missing when a strange dilation of space-time covers the entire star system, and those managed to stay alive are scattered within and/or near the anomaly.

Due to having most connections cut by the fauna within the anomaly as well as the extreme lag by the dilation itself, the Survivors live in tribal manners, each adopting a different set of beliefs, culture and ideals, and thus they will most likely react differently even towards each other and to visitors.

Aesthetic-wise they feature generally a scavenger/pirate feel to their crafts and bases, with necessary/unnecessary armor and weapons just stacking on top of each other as they have to make use with what they have at hand.

Currently, only one group is identified, led by Xar, a female veteran, in a repurposed stranded flagship of sorts near the outer rims of the anomaly.

Inspiration is taken from the concept of seaborn and the Stultifera Navis event from Arknights

Gose

The Ten Golden Commandments (TGC)

Starting within the colonial planet of Brennina IV, the TGC is a death cult that has surprisingly caught on and spread like wildfire upon the galactic locality at R-7, taking over the pacifist nation of the Retonian Federalists. Specialists appoint this as a combination of the cult's populist tendencies, which severely cather to the disillusioned masses struck into dire living conditions by the poor development of the region, and a bizarre case of tremendously large collective delusion. The cult's "Ten Golden Commandments" are differing levels of sacrifice that range from strict lifestiles, self-immolation, and even the violent conversion or attack of other less faithful cult members or those outside of it. The TGC is run by a strict sect of religious extremists, led by the Golden God, who guides massive congregations often ended with live executions of crazed zealots. The bizarre influence that the TGC has had in such a small ammount of time over their people makes some within the galaxy question wether or not higher powers may be at play in the region.

The TGC's aesthetics would be a perversion of the high Christian ecclesiastic, with most of the populace living in favelas and other conditions of abject squalor. Their primary colors are White and Gold.

They are located near the corner of R-7 with R-6. Local polities have started to move against them, in an attempt to prevent the dangerous ideals and even more dangerous zealots of causing further harm to the region.

The primary inspirations for it were several suicide cults, the aeshtetic inspiration may be drawn from Dark Souls and Blasphemous (for general vibe).

The Triple Republic of Todaria (TRC)

A Tiny nation located nearby the remnants of TIE that was born out of a colony which rebelled during the latter half of the RSC-TIE war. The Triple Republic is localized within three star systems that are abnormally close to one another, in similar orbits around the galaxy. These three star systems are each led by one of three oligarchs, and server their own purpose in the TRC. The first is the original colony which is led by an autocrat hailing from the first planet colonized, and the original colonial director of the colony. This system harbours most of the civilian population and agriculture. The second is a military outpost and shipyard, commanded by an ex-moff who fled TIE in it's waning years. The third and final is a massive industrial sector producing military and civilian goods, as well as acting the main hub for the little trade the non-aggressive TRC does with it's neigbors.

Aesthetically, the TRC is heavily based on Thrawn's Infinite Empire, star wars prequels, and some influences from the UNSC. Their main colours are dark cerulean and white.

The Triple Republic is located slightly north of TIE's remnants, in EQ7

The main inspirations for the TRC are TIE, Star wars, and Ezekiel's original breakaway fleet.

The Golden Telladian Crowndom (GCR)

A once great, if isolated kingdom, of which had prospered many years ago and quickly began to deteriorate, the Crowndom has since begun pushing to break out of it's isolation and interact with those around it to try and save it's crumbling empire. It is a monarchist kingdom started by an avian crow-like race known as the Telladians, who subjugated a smaller human kingdom long ago. They happily sat alone with thirty star systems for decades, until infighting forced them to reach out, now leaving them as one of the poorer nations in their region.

Aesthetics are a high science-fantasy and elaborate style of golds and reds and silvers in intricate designs and vast structure interlaced with poor slums and paramilitary rebel groups with far simpler equipment, leaving everything rusted and damaged.

Located in the R-1 Quadrant, near the edge of the galaxy's arm

Heavily inspired by the Terran Dominion and Imperium of man Aesthetically, with social inspiration drawn from real kingdoms in their waning years

Gose

Rekor Deployment Force (RekorD)

The RekorD are a medium sized detachment of automated attack drones, highly proficient in the arts of rapid warfare, who act as ruthless mercenaries for the right price and almost anyone, and, most uniquely of all, as famous internet celebrities. Their mode of operation revolves around contracts obtained from popularity gained amongst the war aficionados of different factions, who find themselves consuming phonk edits of their deployments across a variety of worlds. The force itself is mainly compromised of relatively average tech warships focused on speedy engagements, and ground troops based on humanoid drones controlled by an echeloned informational structure. Their method of warfare relies heavily on the coordination of the grounds troops, who once having secured a superiority in the battlefield, start to pull off stunts such as 360 noscopes of enemy armor whilst backflipping midair. Their origin is unknown, as their rise in popularity is only recent, and their objectives and who controls them are unknown.

The RekorD's aesthetics for the drones and vehicles would be massively utilitarian, using structures oriented towards stress (looking like bone structure), and otherwise skeletonised design. Their color pallet would be black (glossy) and deep blue.

The RekorD seem to hold no residence anywhere, but their sightings indicate that they operate mostly within the IQ-3 sector.

Republican Directorate of the Thirteen States (RDS)

One of the most prominent and quickly growing Military-Industrial powers in the galactic south, a conglomerate of three species, not including the humans within the nation- of which is technically a democratic federation, despite the misnomer. They have extreme influence in their region of operation, and due to their constant presence, being a relative fresh face, and also their quick response to threats such as piracy in the region- are rapidly rising to override the GBE and UoJ's influence in the region. Having recently joined the Embassy, they work to expand their industries and economy, while also allowing themselves to freely strike at slavers, pirates, and general threats in their region of operation. They rely heavily on carrier-based strike tactics and rapid-response capital interceptor craft supplemented by disposable drone forces. In an effort to reduce costs and increase interconnections, they have begun constructing a wormhole grid between each of their 13 sovereign states, and also connecting many nations nearby them who are aligned with them; it has been nicknamed the "Golden-Grid Project", and the gateway system is known as the Golden Highway Network

Their aesthetic is heavily inspired by the United States in real life and some media, the UNSA/SATO from Infinite Warfare, and Militech from cyberpunk. They have a surprisingly high tech base for their recent uprising to power, and their aesthetics match that. Their colour pallate is blue-grey, navy blue, white, and golden yellow.

They are located in the southmost corner of EQ-8, and have an influence sphere covering large swathes of the regions near them, leaving GBE Catamaria somewhat isolated politically, and leaving a no-man's land of influence between them and the UEG.

Their primary inspirations are the ideals of the american constitution, SATO from infinite warfare, and ironically, inspired slightly from the GBE itself.

Principality of Cordoroy (PoCo)

A native alien population directly south of the Bastonians of which the GBE had been attempting to integrate into their space for some time now. Despite three years of efforts, the Principality has both governmentally and culturally resisted, leading to the GBE abandoning these attempts. These attempts led to a very harsh Anti-Bastonian sentiment within the population and governmental structure, and attempts to distance themselves from the Bastonians, leading to an isolationist stance, and rampant poverty. They have attempted to reach out to other nations for economic developments, but the looming shadow of Bastonia hinders these efforts, mostly unintentionally.

The principality is a very low traditional tech but high biotech nation with a postmodern yet bio-tech aesthetic, hard angles and wooden textures. Their primary colours are green, stone brown, and yellow.

They are located barely south of the GBE, very close to their border.

The PoCo has no inspirations.

Maevun Cyberspace Operations Organization (CORRA)

A cyberwarfare, cybersecurity, and general net-based company that offers netrunner services to those willing to pay, with little restrictions on jobs- even finding themselves working semi-permanently with some military forces. They have a vow of utmost secrecy with those who they are hired to, and have never been known to leak information. They are a growing option in the list of cybersecurity and cyberwarfare mercenary organizations, and are quickly aiming for becoming the market's elites.

Aesthetically inspired by the Arasaka Megacorp from cyberpunk 2077, as well as the general aesthetic of cyberpunk settings, with lots of flashy lights and tech bits that both look pretty and serve a purpose. Their colour scheme is black and navy blue. Their actual function is inspired by netrunners from that game, and real world cybersecurity/cyberwarfare officers and operations.

Andromeda

Mako & Makridge Paramilitary Assembly (MPA/Mako)

A nomadic paramilitary organization roaming the outskirts of the galaxy, Mako are a strong threat to galactic peace. Enthralled in a permanent zeitgeist of destroying those they see as evil, their definition of what counts as "evil" very rarely aligns with the galactic whole. Generally, those they target are those who exert influence on "weaker" people. A noble goal tainted by their definition of weakness -- which sees those who sell their freedoms for security as inferior. Due to this skewed moral sense, they primarily target outlying colonies and other installations or vessels of nation-states, in some bizarre quest for "justice," supposedly freeing those who are oppressed while doing nothing more than causing bloodshed.

As a nomadic faction, they do not have a homeworld, and are less of a centralized entity and act more as a loose confederation, harassing certain supply routes of nations they deem evil while generally having many fleets in many disperate parts of the galaxy, leading to a sort of tribal societal structure where might and "moral character" grant you further advancement, provided you espouse their beliefs.

Generally, Mako adopts an aesthetic of "dark nobility," with their ships constructed to evoke a sense of calm and safety to those who align with their beliefs and their soldiers dressed similarly, primarily in darker colors with more frills than an average soldier. With weapons primarily consisting of pop-out lasers and particle beams on warships, fighting Mako in their preferred battleground of space is challenging.

As a nomadic faction, Mako has no set location.

There are no notable inspirations behind Mako.

Andromeda

Confederation of Taistelijat (CoT)

The Taistelijat are a small group of planets who came together under a confederation, overcoming the strife that came from a collapse of a long-dead empire who once ruled over them. These planets are severely underpopulated for their size, mostly due to their location within their star systems, being on the outer end of the habitable zone. This causes their planets to be colder, causing habitation to be more challenging. There are 7 planets within the Confederation of Taistelijat, all of whom share their resources and populations amongst each other through their well-developed internal supply lines. Each planet sends 2 representatives to a council which then collectively decides what long-term goals to work towards. Aside from these meetings, which are constitutionally binding, the planets mostly function alone, though free trade amongst themselves is heavily encouraged and practiced. The confederation, though equal on paper, is not equal in all practicalities. Two of the planets, Hekinska and Viikana. These two planets are dominant over the other five when it comes to their economic and population strength.

The CoT's aesthetics are most-comparable to winter-theming. Their ships are shaped like ice crystals, jagged with much surface area to mount weapons while also being long and thin. Soldiers of the CoT are generally kitted out for cold operations as a default, their tactics being well-developed during the harsh season. Both arms of their military are relatively small and underfunded, however, so guerilla operations are heavily favored when available.

The CoT is located within EQ-1, galactic north of the ADL, frequently approaching them to have ships built.

The CoT's military tactics are inspired somewhat by Winter War Finland, however this inspiration is very loose.

The Seven Dynasties of Lalantia

Led by no-one in particular, the Seven Dynasties is a series of Cultivator warlords who are constantly vying for power, held together only by the vague concept of a voting council for external affairs, of which is dysfunctional and dying. The people in power of the kingdoms- and the number of kingdoms, too-- is constantly changing every few decades, leaving it a frustrating mess of cultivators rising up, falling down, and rising back up again. They use every edge possible, from psionics and magic to cybernetics, genetic modding, and using exotic materials in their bodies for whatever reason- to gain power, and also happen to be one of the main exporters of cybernetics and very prominent teachers of magic and psionics, to those willing to brave the battlefields to learn.

They are a clashing variety of aesthetics, but tend to focus on different aesthetics associated with the chinese and their fictional cultivator stories.

The Lalantians are located at the edge of the R1 sector, close to the far border with R2

They are inspired by Xianxia cultivators.

Andromeda

Hermedian Runners

While not a nation in the traditional or even non-traditional sense, the Flash Runners are a very wide band of loosely organized drug hustlers who specialize in border hopping and smuggling operations. Their main product is flash, a relatively light hallucinogen famed for its very relaxing visions, however they also "book" many other exotic drugs as well, ranging from gene-coded relaxants to psionic psychadelics. Among the traders and hustlers, organization is done essentially through family lines. Seniority of age is paramount, and you are expected to respect those who came before. They are extremely present throughout the galaxy, and as slippery as they are ruthless.

Their "aesthetic" is whatever small ships they can use to smuggle drugs through the Hermedian Gate, a common roadblock on their blockade runnings, a veritable hodge podge of ships from all over.

The Hermedian Runners do not have any one specific location, however they operate in great numbers in seedier parts of the galaxy.
