The Ra'katai Nomadic Floatilla (RNF)

A band of nomadic rodent-esque peoples who have lived in space for generations, slender and thin with weak bones. They pilot a massive floatilla of light warships, merchant vessels, exploring craft, freighters, and mobile stations for living, which explore the galaxy. The Ra'katai often send out large groups of exploring vessels to plot and map out new FTL lanes of different types, using purchased versions of the most common galactic FTL drives to explore these new regions, open them up for normal FTL travel, and interact with smaller nations that may not have yet entered the galactic stage, bringing them exotic goods and weapons in exchange for things from their own homes to bring and recreate for sale elsewhere in the galaxy, bringing them more money for this life of exploration.

Due to being nomadic, they have no one location, and operate across the galaxy

They are inspired by the Outer Planetary Alliance later in the expanse series, with ragtag warships and stations. Their main colours are a rusty red with dark yellow and greys, as well as random other colourings demarking personal vessels.

Bandocai Corporate Industries (BCoi)

A megacorporation who no longer operates specifically under one nation, and has instead moved to and begun industry in their own systems, while maintaining regional headquarters in some nations around the galaxy. Bandocai is an oligarchic corporation run by three families who started it together generations ago. This corporation sells everything from commodities, to machines, to weapons of war, including cheap, easily repairable and usable guns and vessels, such as the Bcoi-202 'Namico' railrifle. On the open market these are sold to normal nations around the galaxy, but are also shadily proliferated to regional pirates who are then told to, in exchange, avoid Bandocai transports when going on raids. It is simply believed the corp has great luck and security, and their weapons are widespread enough to be easily bought by anyone.

Aesthetically and functionally inspired by corpos from cyberpunk, particularly Kang Tao corporation, as well as some small inspirations from Triarch. Their colour scheme is silver and green.

Their main territory is seven industrial systems and one colonized livable system located in EQ6, slightly southwest of the GBE.

Masquerade's Republic

A tiny but prosperous nation at the edge of R8 built on the cultural phenomena of live-action roleplaying, acting, cosplaying, and masquerading- as well as general fashion and pop culture. This nation has become a small time hit in their region with plays and movies being released to local markets. Some small amount of movies have actually become well-known in a good portion of the galaxy, though these are quickly drowned out by the next big release. Despite this, the Masquerade goes on, and the people of this nation live happy, social lives, meshing well with the tourists from other nearby nations who want to see the glamorous sights.

Aesthetically inspired by Las Vegas and other big-hit gambling cities, as well as cosplaying and drag queens.

Located at the edge of R8, near Catamaria.

Golden Palm of the Viper

A criminal tri-family that is well established within the galactic crime scene, being one of the most well known and feared faces in the black market. The Viper's operations primarily include the standard actings of a criminal organization- smuggling, kidnapping, assassinations- as well as being the main link between many companies and the criminal underworld through proxy companies and backtable dealings. They interact with many large companies, providing them black market deals, allowing them to sell more illegal products quietly produced for a good profit, and providing their convoys 'protection' services- an example of a company they have dealings with is Bandocai.

Aesthetically inspired by the Sicilian mafia, the Yakuza, and the Tyger claws from Cyberpunk 2077

They operate out of a freeport known as Freeport Snakeyes in EQ1, very close to the Alsinans, where they conduct both more 'legal' and black market dealings, such as slave auctions or weapons sales.

Futurist State of Talandia

Once a peaceful postmodern civilization reaching into the stars, a first contact with a local native race led to a rapid advance in technology so great that it caused a cultural disconnect with the previous era, causing the people of the planet to go against logic and develop a futurist state of mind, where the government was overthrown and reformed into a nationalist one, and all previous mention of the nation's history was wiped out permanently, books burned and old architecture demolished in favour of the new. This craze has been ongoing for a year, and shows no signs of stopping, with their national history annihilated at this point, their toes dipping into the vast universe at the prospect of advancing their technology even further, leaving behind nature and their past for a new, strong future, despite their crazed and violent tendencies.

Inspired by Italian Futurism, and aesthetically borrowing from things such as cult of the lamb. Main colours are black and shining gold.

Located at the far bottom border between R8 and R7.

Telemaria

A star system split between two nations- the Ausnelian Republic, and the People's Republic of Ebus, which have their homeworld set on the planet of Telemaria, as well as colonies on the three other habitable planets in their system. They are in their early space age and have yet to interact with the galaxy, though that is likely to change soon. They are on the verge of a hot war, and are currently at eachother's throats, though they have yet to create nuclear weapons and still resort to traditional warfare and posturing.

Inspired partially by west and east germany during the cold war in aesthetics and function, and their main colours are grey and yellow; and red and gold respectively.

Territory of Kikimora

Found on the planet PO-G2 and currently inhabiting the entirety of star system 901a, the Kikimora is found to have “replaced” the entire system down to every single atom, including the star burning bright in the center of the system. It is unknown where the Kikimora come from, some suggest that the expedition of PO-G2 by foreign parties has brought them in and thus able to strive carelessly in such an ideal environment, while others suggest that the attempt of colonization and harvesting on PO-G2 merely aids it, and Kikimora is native to the planet. Regardless of stance, all agree that this species is found to originate from PO-G2, with its emergence firmly tied to the intervention of foreign galactic factions.
